INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER
Mr. Vasilios Argyroulis has been Head of the Innovation Department of the National Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT) since October 2021, with over 18 years of international experience in Innovation Management and Technology Transfer, as well as in the management of EU and/or state-funded projects in the ICT sector. Within the framework of his current responsibilities, he is, among others: contact point for the Digital Transformation of EETT operations, liaison with international organizations (e.g. International Telecommunication Union - ITU, GSMA Association) for Joint Capacity Building activities, while leading EETT's participation in EU-funded Research and Innovation programs (e.g. 7Shield under the "Horizon 2020" program, GR digiGOV-innoHUB under the "Digital Europe" program, etc.). He started working at EETT in 2018 as a Scientific Expert in the Spectrum Directorate, while he moved to the office of the President of EETT in mid-2019 as an Innovation Management Advisor. Previously, he served as a Technology Transfer Advisor at the Foundation for Research and Technology - FORTH (PRAXI Network) for the period 2008-2018, with responsibilities that included, among others: i) transnational technology transfer and innovation management, ii) management of cooperation agreements between research and industrial entities, iii) evaluation of new technologies, iv) business data analysis and strategic planning, v) creation of spin-offs, vi) management of clusters and vii) management of a series of EU and state-funded projects in the fields of ICT and Photonics. At the same time, he was a member of the ICT and Nano/Micro-electronics sector groups of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), the largest European innovation and entrepreneurship support network. He was a founding member of the Board of Directors of the HPhos innovation cluster (Hellenic Photonics Cluster), while he served as General Manager of HPhos for the period 2015-2018. In addition, he was the administrative manager of the National Technology Platform PhotonicsGR (2015-2016) and was appointed as the National Contact Point for the Action “Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation” under H2020 for 2018. He started his career in 2004 as a project manager for EU and state-funded projects in the private sector, working for Deloitte Business Solutions and other companies. He holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA, 2002, University of Leicester, Management Centre) and a Bachelor's Degree in Physics (2001, University of Crete, Department of Physics). Since July 2022, he is a PhD Candidate at the University of West Attica, School of Administrative, Economic and Social Sciences, Department of Business Administration. His main research interests include, among others, Digital Transformation of SMEs and large organizations, Digital Regulation, as well as Business Analytics with an emphasis on international high-tech markets.
